KUCCPS Announces Courses for Grade A KCSE 2022 Candidates & Opening of Application Portal,
Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) on Wednesday, April 5, gave an update on the application of courses for the 2022 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) candidates.
Students who scored A and A- (minus) grades were given top priority in applying for courses, according to KUCCPS Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mercy Wahome.
“Students who got A and A minus can sit for any programme.
“They can choose any course under the sciences and arts category. They can do, you know, basically everything,” Wahome announced, while speaking at Kirinyaga University’s career day.
With KUCCPS giving preference to top performers, students who scored C+, B minus, B plain and B+ will be confined to cluster points.
While A and A minus students will be eligible for all courses, the rest will be locked out of in-demand courses depending on their grades.
She, however, explained that there were arrangements to open the portal, which has been long overdue.
“When everything will be ready, all stakeholders will be notified,” Wahome stated.
Notices, she added, would be issued via KUCCP’s official website and social media channels.
KUCCPS’s CEO further urged students to work closely with teachers in choosing courses they were passionate about.
Her statement came days after the body announced that only KCSE 2022 students would be eligible to apply for undergraduate courses.
“Only the candidates who sat for their KCSE the year preceding the selection are eligible for the online degree application. You were supposed to apply for a degree programme last year when we opened the portal for applications,” KUCCPS stated on Wednesday, March 22.
