Reporting to the Senior Manager – Core Network Support, the role holder will include but not be limited to operation, maintenance, optimization, automation, transformation and implementation of fixed internet services within the Mobile Core, Enterprise Core and FTTx domains.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for design, operation, and optimization of fixed services in the mobile core, enterprise core and FTTx networks.
• Design and optimization of predictive maintenance practices and resolving service issues for enterprise and FTTx customers.
• Act as the SPOC to the fixed tribe to offer expertise in the testing and implementation of fixed services.
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions in the enterprise and FTTx space.
• Design policies that apply and improve service delivery.
• Design and implement proactive maintenance schedule, predictive monitoring of systems and services.
• Ensuring fixed network resiliency and availability by performing and documenting disaster recovery tests.
• Design and implement automation to realize faster MTTR and reduction of manual routine tasks.
• Working closely with IP, Core Planning and Support teams on new core enterprise and FTTx deployments
• Assist with the design process and assists in guidance with regards to practices, procedures, and techniques.
• Assists in tracking and evaluating performance metrics.
• Work with Business Agile teams and technology teams to determine if FTTx, Enterprise and Core Network infrastructure and applications fit specification and technical requirements. Tests and evaluates systems, subsystems, and components.
• Act as a technical contact and liaison for outside vendors and/or customers.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex E2E network issues that impact the fixed networks
• Designs and configure Enterprise and FTTx core networks elements.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunication Engineering, IT or related field.
• Work Experience of 4 years with specialized role in a fast-paced telecommunications/ISP environment –Involved in installations, commissioning, and maintenance.
• Technical professional certifications in IP networks, Unix system administration and cloud infrastructure will be an added advantage.
• In-depth understanding of IP dynamic routing protocols in Cisco and/or Huawei IP infrastructure.
• Strong scripting skills in bash and python programming.
• Strong relationship building skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for implementation, Operation and Maintenance of EPC and IMS equipment e.g., DRA, STP, MSS, MGCF, MME, PGW, SGW, PCRF, SBC.
• Solution design and implementation of layer 6/7 services in the EPC and IMS domains
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions using service awareness techniques like flow-based charging, bandwidth control, service reports, security protection and subscriber behavior analysis.
• Design policies such as gating control, traffic shaping, traffic policing, QoS updates, redirections, header enrichment, online/offline charging policies: traffic based, time-based, event-based, etc.
• Keep current with technological developments with an emphasis on security within the industry. Monitors and evaluates competitive applications and products. Reviews literature, patents, standards, open-source projects, and current practices relevant to the solution of assigned projects.
• Assists with the design process and assists in guidance with regards to practices, procedures, and techniques.
• Assists in tracking and evaluating performance metrics.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must have technical / professional qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related certification
• At least 3 years related experience

• EPC, 2G/3G/4G/5G, NBIOT, CS and IMS systems knowledge
• Familiarity with Virtualization & cloud technologies
• Knowledge of routing and switching technologies
