The Most Expensive Degree Programs Offered by Universities in Kenya
Candidates for the 2022 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) have been given a window to review and choose university courses, and the cost of each program has been made public by the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS).
The thousands of courses provided, the schools, the annual fees, and the cutoff criteria were all listed on the internet site by KUCCPS.
An academic year’s worth of tuition for the programs costs between Ksh 67,000 and Ksh 612,000. Sampled the priciest courses available at various colleges across the nation.
The Bachelor of Dental Surgery program at Moi University is one of the courses, and it costs Ksh612,000.
At Kenyatta University (KU), Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT), Moi University, and Maseno University, the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M.B.CH.B) is available for Ksh612,000.
University of Nairobi’s (UoN) Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine costs Ksh442,850. The cost of the Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Nairobi is Ksh374,850
A bachelor of science in biosystems engineering costs Ksh375,700 at the University of Nairobi, while a bachelor of science in nursing costs Ksh367,100 at Uzima University.
On the other hand, JKUAT’s Bachelor of Science in Geomatic Engineering costs Ksh336,600, while UoN’s Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness Management costs Ksh316,200.
A bachelor’s degree in computer science is also offered for Ksh306,000 at Rongo University, Kibabii University, Kirinyaga University, KU, and Catholic University of East Africa (CUEA).
UoN also offers the degree, however it costs Ksh345,100 per academic year
A bachelor of Science (Geospatial Engineering) costs Ksh374,850 at the University of Nairobi, whereas JKUAT offers a similar degree for Ksh367,200. A bachelor of Real Estate costs Ksh345,950 at the University of Nairobi, and a bachelor of Construction Management costs Ksh348,500.
KU offers a bachelor of science for Ksh336,600, UoN offers a bachelor of science in civil engineering for Ksh374,850, Egerton University offers a bachelor of science in agricultural engineering for Ksh373,540, and Daystar University offers a bachelor of law for Ksh335,000.
173,345 of the 841,416 students who took the 2022 KCSE examinations received a C+ or higher, meeting the requirement for admittance into a university.
