US Embassy Announces Scholarships For Kenyan Students; How to Apply
In a statement dated Wednesday, January 18, the embassy indicated that the programme was scheduled to start from 2024 to 2025.
The embassy explained that the programme would give Kenyan students an opportunity to study in the US and also carry out research work.
“Fulbright US Student Program offers unparalleled opportunities in all academic disciplines to passionate and accomplished graduating college seniors, graduate students, and young professionals from all backgrounds.
“During their grants, Fulbrighters will meet, work, live with and learn from the people of the host country, sharing daily experiences,” read a statement on the programme’s website.
The programme is estimated to take between six months and one year.
Eligibility
One is required to be a Kenyan citizen and hold necessary travel documents.
“In countries where the program is administered by the US embassy, applicants must be a citizen, national, or permanent resident qualified to hold a valid passport issued by that country.
“Applicants cannot hold citizenship in a partner country and US citizenship or permanent residency,” read the statement in part.
Additionally, applicants are required to hold an undergraduate degree.
How to Apply
Interested applicants were advised to visit the online application website – apply.iie.org/ffsp2024.
Some of the factors considered during the application process and approval include; academic qualifications, project feasibility, personal leadership ability and available grant funds.
“The academic year 2024-2025 typically corresponds to initial grant periods between August/September 2024 and May/June 2025; grant dates and grant lengths will vary by country and program,” read the statement in part.
According to the embassy, scholarship applications for the programme close by July 30.
