The Kenya Water and Sanitation Civil Society Network is the National Network of Water Civil Society Organizations in Kenya. The Network was established in August 2007 and registered as a society in August 2010 KEWASNET envisions a society with sustainable universal access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene. The Networks mission therefore is to work towards promoting good governance in the water, sanitation and hygiene sector. In order for KEWASNET to achieve this, it has strongly embarked on the values of Partnership and Collaboration, Innovation, Integrity, Professionalism, Respect and Accountability.

Projects Officer
PERSON SPECIFICATION
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate the following;
Experience and Qualification
- University Degree in relevant field (Social Sciences, Project Management, Development Studies, Public Health, Water and Sanitation).
- Minimum of 4 years working experience, ideally in a National NGO or well acknowledged NGO, having experience of working with government partners and project fund/grant management.
- Experience on all aspects of project management.
- Experience in management of multi-year, multi- partner projects
Skills (Special Training or Competence):
- Report writing.
- Problem solving.
- Analytical.
- Social mobilization.
- Knowledge of database management and good command over MS Office.
- Good understanding to work with project budgets, forecasts and reports.
- Good communication skills (both oral and written).
- Proficient in both verbal and written English.
Financial Accountant
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare payment requests as per budget and regulations
- Maintain accurate records of expenditure/filing
- Production of financial management reports
- Compile timely and compliant financial reports of KEWASNET & partner organizations
- Compile expenditure reports on donor funded programmes
- Produce accurate and timely financial reports to donors, know and make known conditions and time restrictions
- Monitor expenditure against budget investigating, analyzing and reporting significant variances
- Prepare statutory payments due and follow up outstanding VAT/customs
- Review coding of transactions and supporting documents to ensure correctness as per budget
- Input data in Sage
- Process payroll
- Process Employee benefits, insurance, submit remittances on time
KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS AND LOGISTICAL
ARRANGEMENTS
- The successful applicant will be part of the Finance and Administration team based at our offices in Nairobi. They will work closely with the Finance and Administration Officer to shape KEWASNET’s work, and to plan and account for our annual budget and programme budgets.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
- The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate the following;
Experience and Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance
- Certified Public accountant (CPA)
- At least five years’ experience in a busy finance department undertaking budgeting, accounting and reporting roles
- Demonstrate experience and understanding of SAGE300
- Experience in management of multi-year, multi- partner projects
